Limited Edition - In-House Smoked Wild Sockeye Salmon Pie
Fans of South Island Pie Co. know that Jamie works hard to keep the meat pie selection fresh and exciting. He is spot-on the mark with this year’s Smoked Salmon Pie, capturing the savoury and smoky flavour that has haunted him since he first tasted smoked salmon as a youth in New Zealand, 20 odd years ago.
Using BC wild sockeye salmon, Jamie smokes it in-house during a 3-day process (brined overnight, chilled in the fridge, smoked on the 3rd day). Once ready, chunks of salmon, along with cream cheese, capers, and dill, are baked into our perfectly flaky and delicious pastry. So good! The smoky taste of the salmon, mingled with the smooth, tangy cream cheese, capers, and dill, it's a smoked salmon lover's dream!
Ingredients:
Filling: Naturally smoked wild sockeye salmon (salmon, water, kosher salt, brown sugar, natural smoke flavour), Cream cheese (milk ingredients, salt, bacterial culture, carob bean gum, sorbic acid), Capers, Dill, Black Pepper
Pastry: Flour, Margarine (palm oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, soy lecithin), Water, Sugar (glucose-fructose), Salt, Ascorbic acid.

Too bad these yummy pies are only available for a limited period of time. They are so good!!! The salmon, the dill, capers and cream … a magical blend of deliciousness!
Flaky crust, perfectly cooked salmon, creamy richness of the cream cheese with freshness of dill and the capers add something interesting. One of my favourite pies - and I think I've tried them all.
Love salmon so we thought we would give this a try. We were NOT disappointed. Add this to my favourites list! Creamy with lots of salmon and a little bit of tang! 100% my fav pie yet!
