We are food companies. Not companies who make food.
There's a big difference. For us, food comes first. We don't hire executives. We hire farmers and chefs. People who prides themselves on quality and flavour, not margins and profit.

Start small. Grow big
Everyone know farmers markets are the place for great products made by great people. But unlike grocery stores, farmers markets don’t fit into everyday life. Uproot Food Collective started when three farmers market producers Honest Dumplings, South Island Pie Co and Natural Kitchen Delights joined forces with a common vision to bring like-minded companies together to reduce costs and sell outstanding products to grocery stores under a single banner.
There’s strength in numbers.
Together in one space, Uproot Food Collective companies can make more food people love at a cost everyone loves. The business side is under one roof too—from bar-codes to marketing to nation-wide distribution. As our food collective grows so does our power. Power to take away shelf space from food conglomerates. Power to provide consumers what they’ve been waiting for. Power to turn the whole industry on its head.

Food should create happiness
But not all food is created equally. We like to know what is going into our bodies, where it came from, and who made it. But grocery shelves are filled with food designed for profits, not people. Consumers deserve the food they want, when and where they want it. Passionate food producers deserve to be connected with people who want their products. That’s why Uproot Food Collective exists.
