Start small. Grow big.
Everyone know farmers markets are the place for great products made by great people. But unlike grocery stores, farmers markets don’t fit into everyday life. Uproot Food Collective started when three farmers market producers Honest Dumplings, South Island Pie Co and Natural Kitchen Delights joined forces with a common vision to bring like-minded companies together to reduce the traditional operational and market barriers emerging local food brands face by providing scale up support and direct to customer sales throughout Alberta.
There’s strength in numbers.
Together in one space, Uproot Food Collective is a marketplace for emerging food brands, space for entrepreneurs to brainstorm and collaborate, and a manufacturing facility for scaling up. As our food collective grows so does our power. Power to take away shelf space from food conglomerates. Power to provide consumers what they’ve been waiting for. Power to turn the whole industry on its head.
Food should create happiness.
But not all food is created equally. We like to know what is going into our bodies, where it came from, and who made it. But grocery shelves are filled with food designed for profits, not people. Consumers deserve the food they want, when and where they want it. Passionate food producers deserve to be connected with people who want their products. That’s why Uproot Food Collective exists.
